Tirta Gangga, Karangasem

Hello guys allow me to inform to you another peaceful place in Bali, Tirta Gangga is village and palace in eastern Bali, about 5 kilometers from Karangasem, at Abang sub-district. Tirta Gangga is strategically located besides of the man street from Karangasem to Singaraja town and it is just 20 minutes from the local town or 2 and half hours from Denpasar town.
It is noted for its water palace, owned by Karangasem royalty. Tirta gangga is a beautiful park with the huge water fountain and wide pond that built in the year of 1948 by the Karangasem King of Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. This palace has been shaped in the form of a beautiful water garden and it is located near a natural spring. This spring wells up under a huge banyan tree which stands at the foot of a hill. At the top of this hill stands a village temple. The centerpiece of the palace is an eleven fountain and there are many beautiful carvings and statues adorning the gardens, a maze of pools and fountains surrounded by a lush garden and statues.
Tirta Gangga park is also featured by the wide public pool with the cool and clean water where it can be used by everyone who visiting Tirta Gangga Park. The lush tropical garden are well surround the park and colorful big fish ponds are running away at another ponds to give the impression for every tourist who pay a visit to this beautiful park. For the domestic it cost Rp.5000 and Rp.10000 for foreigner to enter Tirta Gangga Park.

The water of Tirtagangga has always been regarded as holy and is regularly used for religious temple ceremonies. With important celebration days Tirtagangga is the destination of colourful processions with offerings, umbrellas, flags and other tributes. Led by the local temple priests, ceremonies are held at the spring, accompanied by chanting and the music of the 'Beleganjur', a gamelan gong group of small gongs with each musician striking a specific, different note on the musical scale, all blending in harmony.There is a clear spring water pool that can be used by visitors to shower or swim, visitor can swim in the cool spring water with some small until medium fish in the pool. In addition, visitors can enjoy the peacefulness of Tirta Gangga by feeding the fish with some bread that sell by local people in the area of Tirta Gangga Park. There are a few small restaurants or cafe around the Tirta Gangga Park, so no need to worry about your hunger when you visit Tirta Gangga Park.
